Ticagrelor is the first reversibly binding oral P2Y12 receptor antagonist with Ki of 2 nM. The mechanism of action of ticagrelor is as a Phenylalanine Hydroxylase Activator, and P2Y12 Receptor Antagonist, and Cytochrome P450 3A4 Inhibitor, and Cytochrome P450 3A5 Inhibitor, and P-Glycoprotein Inhibitor. The physiologic effect of ticagrelor is by means of Decreased Platelet  Aggregation.
